On March 24th, 2017, Iris Barbee Bonner presented her latest collection Black Light District 2 in an art exhibit in Philadelphia, PA. The Black Light District 2 is a collection of provocative and symbolic works by artist Iris Barbee Bonner, aka “Thesepinklips”.
Black Light District 2 took place 5 years after it’s predecessor, The inaugural Black Light District which also took place during Women’s History Month. Was it a coincidence ? Absolutely not as Iris is known for pushing the envelope when it comes to female empowerment. March is Women’s History Month which is the time of year in which we celebrate the contributions of women world-wide that embodies strength, confidence and an influential voice whether it is through verbal communication or in the case of Iris,to showcase artistic gifts that are not only empowering but thought provoking and groundbreaking.
Black Light District 2 shows that Iris Barbee Bonner aka Thesepinklips work is more than just art, it is a form of life and a magnetic energy force that just draws you in to be more open, honest, and free.
