With the farewell of our 44th president, Barack Obama, Joe Freshgoods, designer from Chicago, Illinois, and Chance the Rapper have teamed up together to show our former president some love. Freshgoods has put together a clothing line called “Thank You Obama” to pay homage to Obama’s eight years of service. To make this possible, Chance the Rapper has joined Joe Freshgoods by becoming the fresh new face of his collection. On February 2nd, 2017, Chance the Rapper tweeted, “I’m a model now. #ThankUObama droppin in like 15 minutes. ThankUObama.us”.

On the official site, Joe has released a statement on the “About the Project” section stating “With this project I wanted to time stamp a period in my life where I felt like I can do whatever I wanted to do and be whatever I wanted to be. The night Obama won his first term gave me so much hope, especially & most importantly as a black man. I decided to make a collection saying “Thank you” and give me something to smile at every now and then when I look in the closet.” The clothing line consists of a collection of t-shirts and sweatshirt that accentuates America’s appreciation for the former president. There’s even a t-shirt that includes Malia’s name, Obama’s oldest daughter, and a reference to her incident back in April on 2016 where she was caught smoking and partying at a festival. At the bottom, the t-shirt reads “We all smoke it’s ok” conveniently placed in fine print. Unfortunately, everything is currently sold out. They did reassure us they would restock soon. So in the meantime, be on the lookout for new fresh ideas from Joe Freshgoods and the 3 time Grammy winner, Chance the Rapper’s new found career in modeling.
