The recent tragedy of Pop Smoke’s death of being gunned down will be an unforgettable moment for fans and artists in the music industry.
On Feb. 19, Pop Smoke died at 20 years old shortly after shots were fired during a home invasion in Hollywood Hills, where he was renting. Police were called from the East Coast to report the incident. The New York native was pronounced dead at the hospital.
There’s suspicion that the cause of several people entering the home is from the videos that were posted on Facebook, which revealed the address of his location. According to the video, it included the late rapper receiving gifts and capturing the address placed on the front. On Instagram, a close friend of his posted a photo of the two men posing in front of the house with the address showing in the back and the Beverly Hills tagged in the location.
Although there are suspicions over what caused the tragedy, they have yet to capture any suspects.
Recently, Pop Smoke released Meet the Woo 2 (Deluxe) on Feb. 12, in which he was also going to begin touring at the beginning of March. He was expected to perform at Rolling Loud Miami in May. The upcoming rapper was featured on a song with Travis Scott on the “GATTI” track off the Jackboys album.
Many artists took to social media to share their condolences and express emotions on the late rapper’s sudden death. The invasion is still under investigation and officials have yet to release further information.
