Caitlyn Jenner has hung up her phoenix costume from the Masked Singer and is now eyeing the role of California governor.
Multiple sources told Axios that Jenner has been speaking with political consultants as she is seriously considering running for office.
It’s alleged that Jenner has been working with Caroline Wren, a Republican party fundraiser that assisted in President Trump’s 2020 campaign.
California’s republicans are currently unhappy with their current governor Gavin Newsom. The Democrat faces recall as Californians disagree with his stance on immigration, homelessness, and climate change. Other residents of the Golden state have been displeased with the governor’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jenner shares in that displeasure and retweeted a post regarding Newsom’s COVID-19 response.
10M people in LA. still locked down with 1 death and 591 people in the hospital. Context? Ages? Comorbidities? With covid or because of covid?. The power @GavinNewsom has is ridiculous. https://t.co/zEFqp7VH7S

The former reality TV star is an open Republican and previously supported President Trump. The star was put under fire for her political ideologies because Trump and the Republican party have a history of being non-inclusive towards the LGBTQ+ community.
Many questioned how she could support those who do not support her. While the trans-community would love to see one of their members in office, some do not want that person to be Jenner.
see i wouldn't mind seeing a trans person as governor of a state… but if that person's going to be caitlyn jenner, i'd rather keep waiting https://t.co/o4StWyAGwX

Others even say that the retired Olympic Gold medalist does not represent their community.
The transgender community is diverse in background and thought, and yet, we are overwhelmingly opposed to the policies of the Republican Party, who have shown repeatedly they see us as unworthy of human rights.
Caitlyn Jenner may be trans, but she does not represent us. At all.

It is no secret former President Trump was also a reality star, one Twitter user correlates his performance in office to what Jenner’s could be.
With all due respect to Caitlyn Jenner, the last time we had a failed reality television star with bloated sense of self in political office, over 500,000 people died and we couldn’t leave our homes for a year. Also you supported that guy….so no.

While California is known for La La Land, it is clear residents want celebrities to stay in their roles and out of politics. However, time will tell if Jenner makes her debut as a politician.
Caitlyn Jenner is only running for governor to distract us from this https://t.co/XIc9rBRSKr
