Hip-Hop Legend Dr. Dre may have a net worth estimated at $800 million, but his oldest daughter is homeless. In an interview with Daily Mail, the Rapper/Moguls daughter LaTanya Young revealed that she and her four children are homeless. Young relocated with her children from Nevada to California due to higher pay wages. Since relocating to California, she has worked various jobs as a delivery driver for Door Dash, Uber Eats, and as an assembler at a warehouse. Even with those jobs, it is still not enough for her to pay rent. Currently, her children are staying with friends and family while she is living in her rental car.
At one point, she received financial support from her father, but that abruptly ended in January 2020. Once she spoke to the press about their strained relationship, the support stopped. According to Young, “His lawyer has said that my dad doesn’t want to help me because I’ve spoken about him in the press,” she said. She has continually tried to reach out to him but cannot do so personally and must go through his team.
Since this news came out, people across social media have shared their opinions on the situation, including sports analyst Shannon Sharpe. In a series of tweets, Sharpe expressed his viewpoints in a very blunt manner. “A 38yr old grown woman trying to shame her father into taking care of responsibilities she created,” he tweeted. He then continued with, “I’m my kid’s last option, not 1st choice”.
