Chamillionaire and E40 have teamed up with Republic to create a competition to invest $100k in a minority or women startup company .
The well-known rappers began their spotlight in the rap industry and eventually branched off to invest in several companies. For Chamillionaire, he’s invested in Lyft, Maker Studios and Ring doorbell app. Chamillionaire told TMZ in an interview that E40 is invested in some of the same companies as him and said that they are looking for people who are interested in creating the same success.
“We’re just looking for companies that are innovative, solving real problems, you know,” Chamillionaire told TMZ. “You don’t have to be making millions of dollars a month or anything like that. It’s just, we look for early-stage startups that normally don’t have access to capital, but people that are really serious about it.”
In an Instagram video posted by Chamillionaire announced that entrepreneur “The Shark” Daymond John will be also be helping to make the final decision.
To enter the competition, download the convoz app for iOS or Andriod, click on the banner at the top of the homepage and submit your company pitch. The app will allow Republic to communicate with potential candidates and ask the necessary questions needed to move forward in the competition. The $100k pitch competition ends on December 6.
