After ten years of developing an animated series and foundation, Ludacris’ Karma’s World, inspired by his daughter, will be available on Netflix.
The rapper took to Instagram to share the great news with everyone expressing how important this animation is for the next generation, especially to shed positivity.
“It was important to me to provide a positive @StrongBlackLead to show our youth that there are many ways to overcome difficult situations, and that their dreams no matter how big are possible,” Ludacris wrote in the Instagram caption. “I’m looking forward to finally being able to share what I’ve been working on behind the scenes for so many years! Welcome to Karma’s World!”
Karma’s World is an animation based on a 10-year-old musical artist and rapper, Karma Grant. The series will follow a young Black girl, who is finding herself through music and in life. She wants to change the world with her music and words.
The show will also include songs that highlight expressing emotions with family and friends, discrimination, body positivity, self-esteem, and more.
“It has been an absolute privilege to work with Chris to bring his vision of Karma to life,” Chief Creative Officer for 9 Story Media Group, Angela Santomero said. “Karma is a character who does not yet exist on kids’ TV. She is a powerful, empowering role model who uses her words and music to bring about change in her community. Kids who watch Karma’s World will be inspired to use creativity as a vehicle for self-expression, and the series furthers 9 Story’s commitment to creating diverse content for children that encourages them to find their voice and follow their dreams.”
