1.Normani
The Atlanta born- New Orleans – bred singer Normani Kordei is best known for being in the girl group Fifth Harmony, and now has embarked on a solo career inspired by the late ‘90s and early ‘00s smooth R &B sound. Since April, she signed with Keep Cool/ RCA records and is steadily working on her first studio. After releasing “Love Lies” last Spring with Khalid, she was enamored and struck with the confidence and warmth in her voice.

2.Hayley Kiyoko
The former Disney actress ( Lemonade Mouth) turned pop phenomena started her music career in a girl group called the Stunners ( which Tinahse was also a part of), Hayley Kiyoko’s enigmatic presence has hit the Top 40 with songs such as “Curious” and the Kehlani duet “What I Need,” which were all on her March album Expectations . Moreover, she’s set to headline Jack Antonoff’s fourth Shadow of the City festival in New Jersey.

Jorja Smith was just 18 years old when she self-released “Blue Lights” which is a reggae hinted track that focused on police brutality and racial biases, which got the attention of the masses . Later on, she collaborated with Drake, opened up for Bruno Mars, and even got a song on the Kendrick Lamar produced al Black Panther soundtrack before her debut album in June titled Lost & Found. Her Jazzy , relevant, and prominent lyrics are often compared to the late Amy Winehouse .

Anne- Marie came to the scene with her dancehall hit “Rockabye” with Clean Bandit which has been streamed over 700 million times worldwide on Spotify. In addition, before the United Kingdom native was dominating the rave and pop scene with her staccato voice and vibrating beats, she was a child actress in the West- Ends Les Misérables. Now, with the release of her newest project Speak Your Mind which are songs that are summery synth jams cowritten by Julia Michaels and Ed Sheeran, she proves that she’s ready for complete stardom.

5.Mitski
Ever since 2012, Mitski Miyawaki has been running over critics with her intimate indie rock sound with the likes of songs like “The Best American Girl” which is a horrowing mediation of identity which is apparent through her upbringing (the Japanese-American singer spent most of my childhood in eight different countries). Also, she garnered a fan in Lorde, who used her as an opening act on her Melodrama World Tour this past Spring. Later this Summer , Mitski’s fifth album Be The Cowboy will be released
