There have been rumors about “lost episodes” lost to history that either have been taken off the air because of how disturbing they were, got shuffled out eventually, or even somewhere may have claimed to see but never even existed in the first place.
Barney and Friends Episode: Death
On Tiktok, young adults are posting about how they remember watching a “lost episode” of Barney and Friends when they were young that traumatized them. Some claimed to have nightmares about this particular episode before it even airing. Barney and Friends was a TV show that many watched in their childhood that taught them the value of friendship and being there for one another. This episode was supposedly on the TV Guide at one point, where it noted that this special episode of Barney and Friends aired only on this day and never again. The episode was called “Death” and supposedly when the theme music started playing you could subtly hear a weird kind of whispering behind the theme music. Everything was going normal, then when Barney came to life and started talking that’s when things took a turn. When Barney talked it was his normal giggling voice and a darker, sinister voice underneath at the same time. In that episode, he told the kids that today they were going to learn about death. One kid asked what is death and he responded this is by growing huge teeth, his face turning angry, and laughing evilly he bites the child’s head off. Barney then proceeds to chase and kill the rest of the children in a gruesome way At the end, he sang the “ I love you, you love me” song in a screaming demonic way.
Spongebob Squarepants Episode: Squidward’s Suicide
Many grew up with the fun-loving group of undersea creatures that always put a smile on their face for their continuous shenanigans. This episode, actually never made it past the final edit because of the scenes of suicide and harm to children. It depicts very graphic images of Squidward being humiliated and being fed up by everyone making fun of him playing the clarinet then you see different frames of little kids killed and mangled and Squidward finally saying just do it holding a gun up to his head. Where he killed himself and his brains and blood looking super realistic. Apparently, there was an investigation as to who tampered with an episode, but nothing came out of it.
Tom and Jerry Episode: Tom’s Basement
Tom the cat and Jerry the mouse are the iconic duo known for creating mischief for each other and always trying to one-up each other. Getting each other hurt in the process, but always have some sort of understanding of one another. You see in the show that Tom’s owner doesn’t always treat Tom well and in this episode that aspect is overdramatized. In this episode, the owner wants Tom to never go into the basement, but the audience does not know why. Any time he even goes nears it the owner abuses him for it. Jerry wanted to know what was in the basement so he decided to trick Tom into chasing him into the basement when the owner wasn’t there, but the owner still was. The owner got so violent with Tom that Jerry hid somewhere, but then decides to try and stop the owner. Jerry stopped the owner by murdering him, so the two has to hide the body in the basement. Then for some odd reason, Jerry ends up killing Tom.
There are a lot more “lost episodes” out there and not all of them are disturbing like many claims, but they do claim to have watched these episodes. Do you remember seeing any of these episodes growing up?
