The beloved animated franchise, Despicable Me, is coming out with it’s third movie. And that means new cheerful, upbeat music from Pharrell.
“Yellow Light”, released last week, was the first song off of the film’s soundtrack set to release on June 23rd. This uplifting track is filled with a bubbly, synthetic beat. The visuals include a pixelated Pharrell fighting a villain in an 80’s style video game.
Yesterday, fans were surprised as Pharrell’s playful music video for “There’s Something Special” hit the internet. The video centers around everyone’s favorite yellow creatures – those adorable Minions. Pharrell gives his signature falsetto vocals on this electronic based lullaby.
“Yellow Light” and “There’s Something Special” are just two of the five new songs Pharrell has created for Despicable Me 3, which arrives in theaters on June 30th. Pharrell has provided the music for all three of the kid-friendly movies, giving us his catchiest hit, “Happy”.
