It is very normal to switch careers at one point in one’s life. Don’t take it from me though; take it from these 5 successful singers who discovered that destiny had different plans in store for them:

This Canadian mega-star has sold 170 million records sold worldwide and has won 5 Grammys; these are of course only a few of his many accomplishments in the music industry. Drake started his career when he was as young as 15 on the coming-of-age drama: “Degrassi”, where he played “Jimmy Brooks”, according to CapitalXtra.
2. Ariana Grande
This pop princess is known worldwide for her unbelievable voice; has sold over 85 million albums and has earned two Grammys. A couple of years ago, however, her fans knew her primarily as “Cat Valentine” from the two Nickelodeon shows: “Victorious” and “Sam and Cat”. She also appeared in the Nickelodeon movie “Swindle” among others.
3. Miley Cyrus
This pop diva has sold 44.6 million estimated album sales, according to Chart Masters she’s a two-time Grammy nominee and has won Teen Choice Awards and Kids Choice awards for her work as an actress. Miley Cyrus is a teen idol known primarily for her role in the Disney Channel show “Hannah Montana” where she played Miley Stewart. She also appeared in “Hannah Montana: The Movie”, “Bolt”, and “The Last Song” amongst other productions.
4. Demi Lovato
This pop-rock queen like Grande is known for her impressive vocals as well as her edgy sense of style. Demi has sold 16,8 million album sales, according to Chart Masters. She is a three-time Grammy nominee, and she’s won a Teen’s Choice Award as well as a Kid’s Choice Award. Demi has a face that most early adults can recognize from their childhood as she started her career when she was a child appearing on “Barney and Friends” alongside fellow singer Selena Gomez. She went on to star in Disney’s “Camp Rock” series’ and played “Sonny” on Disney Channel’s “Sonny with a Chance”.
5. Selena Gomez
Selena is another teen idol/pop princess that we know and love. She has achieved numerous successes as she is the ninth most streamed artist on Spotify and is the second most followed woman on Instagram, according to Chart Masters. She has an estimated 28.3 million in album sales, also according to Chart Masters. She is a two-time Grammy nominee and she’s won several Guinness World Record Awards as well as a Kid’s Choice award, amongst others. She and Demi Lovato appeared in “Barney and Friends” when they were children. Selena went on to star as “Alex Russo” in the Disney Channel original: “Wizards of Waverly Place”.
This list features only a few of the many successful actors who are now singers, but it is nevertheless inspiring because it reminds us that everyone starts out somewhere, follow your gut, go with the flow, and work the hardest because success might just be lurking around the corner! Interestingly enough, these singers didn’t start out as ordinary actors, but as child actors; so start early! its never to early to live a dream.
