Travis Scott has had the opportunity to work with musical geniuses such as Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Kid Cudi, and even Andre 3000, but there’s always been one artist he’s wanted to work with, and it seems like his chance is finally here. In an interview back in January with Billboard, Scott promised that “his next album is going to have Stevie”, yes, as in legend and icon Stevie Wonder. He included “Well, I’m trying. We’re talking”, and from the looks of Scott’s Instagram post with him, those talks are complete. If the rumors are true, Travis Scott and Stevie Wonder will most likely collab on a track that will be featured on Astroworld, Scott’s third studio album that he is currently working on. It has been predicted to drop in the early parts of 2018.
Scott is no stranger when it comes to working with the biggest names in music and mixing things up with styles and sounds. Because he got his start in producing, he loves working with a variety of artist and displaying their talents on a song as well, telling Billboard, “I don’t ever think of features as just, like, features. I think of them as a purpose. Like, this motherf****r was meant to be on this; the world needs to hear them.”
2018 will look to keep Travis Scott busy, as a lot is on his plate. In February, he and Kylie Jenner welcomed a new baby girl, Stormi Webster, into the world. The rapper also worked with Kendrick Lamar, featuring on the track “Big Shot” from the album of the highly rated film, Black Panther. He’s also expected to be touring and performing at many upcoming festivals, headlining Miami’s Hip-Hop Phenomenon, Rolling Loud, for the second year straight. Not to mention, his joint album with Quavo from Migos, is still doing well on the charts.
