As a fan of Floetry, to be present at the first Floetry concert in the states in almost a decade, it is almost as unbelievable as it is exciting.
Nine years later after the duo broke up and left fans devastated and speculating about the cause, we finally get to enjoy the Floacist and Marsha Ambrosious live back together again as the talented, soulful hypnotic group the world has grown to love; Floetry.
After a flawless and passionate performance by the legendary R&B band Mint Condition, the lights darkened to a mysterious purple color, and instantly the aura of the Fox theater began to fill with a heightened sense of renewal, relaxation and peace.
Then suddenly the Floacist tranquilly walked on stage and Marsha Ambrosious seemed to glide to her microphone, the crowd was so silent you could hear a roach pee! As the Floacist grabbed her microphone she said “we’re going to go right into this thing” and started the show. The crowd burst into an applause so intense that it felt as if we had been holding our acclaim since the last time Floetry performed in Atlanta. Performing their hits side by side such as “say yes”, “It’s getting late”,”floetic”, “sunshine”, and their rendition of Michael Jackson’s “butterflies”.
The two stepped aside one another to let each other perform their own solo songs, the Floacist performed a healing mantra on the audience as she performed her single Breathe with a backdrop of emerald green and yellow golden lights and the crowd repeating,” you got to let it go let it go so you can grow” synchronized in an accapellic harmony that turned the Fox theater into a Floacist chorus! When the song was over I felt relieved and internally healed releasing all negative energy and thoughts into one breath, then the Floacist reintroduced her partner Marsha Ambrosious back to the stage, where she performed her Singles Cheat on you with a basketball player, and Late nights early mornings, addictively sautéing and caramelizing our eardrums as if they were onions in butter, with her vocals being the fire.
The Floetry Reunion concert was definitely an awesome enchanted musical experience any music lover would not want to miss! So are you going to the Floetry Concert? All you got to do is say yes.
