We’ve waited 6 long years for it but if you let social media tell it, it was well worth the wait. Earlier this Friday at 12 midnight, Lil Wayne released the highly anticipated Tha Carter V album. The 23 track album has been the center of controversy between its creator, Lil Wayne, and the Cash Money record label. The album features guest appearances from some of the biggest names in Hip-Hop such as the late great XXXTentacion, Kendric Lamar, Travis Scott, Nicki Minaj, throwback early 2000s RnB faves such as Ashanti and Nivea, and Weezy’s own daughter, Reginae Carter makes her debut appearance on the album.
Controversy aside, the album has received rave reviews from folks all over Twitter. Here are some of our favorite tweets and memes referencing the album.
