Mariah Carey doesn’t mess around … or maybe she does? The Grammy Award Winning singer clapped back at rapper YTK for sampling her song “Shake it Off” without permission.
On May 7 RNB Radar CEO Tommy Banks shared a clip of the rapper’s latest song “Let It Off,” the title is a reference to firing off a gun and also nods at Mariah’s hit song.
“Mariah Carey has 24 hours to respond,” wrote Banks as the caption.
In less than 18 hours the queen of R&B shot back saying, “How about y’all have 24 hours to respond to my lawyers,” along with a GIF from her music video for “GTFO.”

Twitter went wild with some dissing YTK and others dissing Mimi, with people running to take sides, Banks cleared the air saying that Carey was only joking around.

Quest Love jumped in and laughed off the situation, comparing it to one he faced back in 2010 with Erykah over the song “Gone Baby Don’t Be Long.”

Due to this stunt, Banks got “Let It Off” to blow up all over social media and various news outlets, something that will definitely help the Baltimore rapper’s career.

Banks added to the situation by saying he is going to add the situation to his resume, viewing Mimi’s attention as an accomplishment.
