TDE’s biggest artists of 2017 being Kendrick Lamar and SZA, have yet again teamed up for a hypnotic yet stadium sized friendly song: “All The Stars” arises at the courtesy of the Black Panther movie soundtrack which is also reportedly curated and produced by Lamar himself. According to a statement that Lamar made, (courtesy of The Verge magazine), he praises the Black Panther film and the directions it took within music:
“Marvel Studios’ Black Panther is amazing, from its cast to its director. The magnitude of this film showcases a great marriage of art and culture. I’m truly honored to contribute my knowledge of producing sound and writing music alongside Ryan and Marvel’s vision.”
Moreover, the album’s first piece captures a mixture of worlds, putting together hazy pitches and corrected vocals while adding sublime and intriguing string arrangements hinting to a touch of elegance. SZA’s vocals beam over the orchestral part of the track in the latter half, while Kendrick continuously and undoubtedly drops pieces of wisdom that surpass his years, professing “A small percentage whom I’m building with / I want the credit if I’m losing or I’m winning, on my mama that’s the realest shit.”
