With Drake and Rihanna dominating the charts both together and separately last year, it’s no surprise they’ve made it to the top of the list of Billboard nominees this year. On April 10th, Billboard officially released the list of nominees for the Billboard Music Awards 2017. Within the list, artists who are also mentioned include J. Cole, Future, Kanye, Adele, Ariana Grande, Beyonce, Justin Bieber and many more.
After a sum up, Drake was nominated for a total of 22 nominations, along with The Chainsmokers, also tied at 22. Next up, Twenty Pilots came up to a total of 17 nominations. Following after, Rihanna is sitting at a whopping 14 nominations. With this being said, Drake is the highest male nominee while Rihanna is the highest female nominee both as solo artists. Although Riri’s and Drake’s summer hit, “Work” didn’t make it on to the Billboard Charts, they are both nominated in the same category for the “Top Radio Artist”. I’m sure the single helped both of them out in that sense, regardless no one can deny their chemistry together.
The Billboard Music Awards 2017 will be take place on May 21 at 8pm on ABC. The awards will also include live performances by Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Celine Dion, Pink, and many more. Don’t forget to tune in and watch to see who takes the gold this year.
