Adele has confirmed that she’s planning to take a significant break from music after her Las Vegas residency, Weekends With Adele, concludes this fall. During her final show in Munich on August 31, the 36-year-old singer shared her intentions with fans, expressing the need to step back and enjoy the life she’s been building over the past seven years.
Adele, known for her powerful vocals and emotionally charged performances, told the audience at Munich’s custom-built Adele Arena, “I just need a rest. I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself and I want to live it now.” She emphasized that she will deeply miss her fans during this extended hiatus but feels it’s necessary to recharge.
Her announcement came after wrapping up a 10-night residency in Munich, which was part of a broader European tour. She is set to return to Las Vegas in October for the final leg of her residency at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum. However, she made it clear that once these performances conclude, she plans to be away from the stage for an “incredibly long time.”
Earlier this summer, Adele hinted at this decision, revealing that she doesn’t have any immediate plans to release new music. Instead, she expressed a desire to explore other creative avenues and take time away from the spotlight. Adele, who has always been candid about her need for personal space, stated, “I want a big break after this, and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”
Adele’s decision follows her pattern of taking extended breaks between albums and tours, with the time between her projects growing over the years.
