On Sept. 9, the season five finale of Power left fans in a state of shock as we saw AUSA Angela Valdes collapse in James “Ghost” St. Patrick’s arms from a bullet that Tommy shot that was intended to kill St. Patrick.
The creator of the Starz original, Courtney A. Kemp, coached viewers through the storyline following these characters whom all seem to have their own hidden agendas.
“Angela has been the hero of this story on purpose because she has been protecting everybody,” Kemp said.
Unfortunately, fans will have to wait until the next season to see if Valdes survives that bullet wound on her chest. We all saw as her blood soaked her white turtleneck so it does not seem to be promising.
Season 5 revealed that Ghost would do anything to stay out jail so that he can continue his partnership with Councilman Tate on the Queens Child Project, especially since it will build his rapport as a classy club owner.
Ghost reassures Councilman Tate that everything will be all right but what he did not know is that his life will unravel before his eyes.
“It won’t get to that everything is under control,” St. Patrick said.
It is possible that Ghost should have listened to Tate especially since Ghost’s past is starting to catch up with him during a huge RICO case. Once again, he is way over his head.
This season revealed that every man is for himself, especially Tommy because he is convinced that Ghost is no longer trustworthy.
His new girlfriend Lakiesha agrees and will do anything to stay out of the fire that Ghost and Tasha had brought her into “unintentionally.”
Lakiesha said, “After all that ghost has put you through does he even deserve your loyalty?”
A big question that Tommy and the viewers have all tried to answer. After, his right-hand man Ghost conspired with Vincent to get Teresi murdered by the hands of Tommy, how could he?
Dre Coleman’s rampage to power alongside the Jimenez cartel has led him to a series of heart-stopping events that has compromised his life and his child’s life.
After, Tommy found out about this news through “2-bit” he practically chases him into the custody of witness protection.
Ghost’s son Tariq has a corrupt mind because of Kanan, who is now deceased. Even after his death, Tariq wants to be a part of this dope game.
Before police officers murder Kanan, he manages to kill Diego Jimenez because Ghost asked him to do so.
As for poor Alicia Jimenez, she is in jail probably figuring out ways that she can murder Valdes for getting her locked up.
Oh! Let us not forget that Ghost murders Terry Silver the man that Tasha is sleeping with behind Ghost’s back. It might be a sign that he was not completely over Tasha.
This season was a hot mess, which makes it hard to figure out what will happen in season 6 of Power.
How will Ghost get out of this and who can he count on? Is this the end of the Tommy and Ghost duo? Is Lakiesha a real ride or die or just mad as hell at Tasha? When will they cut Tariq’s character?
There is only one person with the answers, Courtney A. Kemp the creator. According to her, these characters need to figure out a brilliant way to get out of mayhem.
Kemp said, “Can we all be clever than clever to get out of this?”
