On May 3rd, Marvel revealed a sneak peek at phase 4 that revealed all the upcoming Marvel movies. Marvel fans on YouTube and Twitter expressed their excitement after watching the trailers.
Black Widow – Solo Female Action Movie
Black Widow is arguably one of the best characters from Marvel Comics and in the Avengers movies. With the Avengers’ movies, making their way into the hearts of their audience for the past few years, fans wanted to see a solo movie with a female heroine.
In July 2018, Marvel movie fans were surprised when it was revealed that Cate Shorthand announced she will be directing the Black Widow movie featuring Scarlett Johnson as the protagonist and is set to be released on 9th July 2021. This Marvel Movie will include Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff facing her past’s demons, including the horrid memories of the Red Room Training Facility.
In addition to Johansson, Black Widow’s movie will also feature O-T Fagbenle as Mason, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov a.k.a. The Red Guardian, Rachel Weisz as Melina, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova. It has also been confirmed that the Marvel Movie will include the fan-favorite character Taskmaster on the big screen for the very first time. However, it has not yet been confirmed who will play the role.
Black Widow will be playing in theatres starting from 9th July 2021. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions and for the safety of individuals, it will also debut on Disney+ for premium users on the same day of its release.
Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings
Over the past few years, fans got a chance to see a range of different Marvel movies. From Captain America: the winter soldier, to Thor: Ragnok, from superstitious fantasy movies to live-action features, every year fans waited eagerly to watch their favorite Marvel movie to hit the big screens. However, it is the very first time that Marvel will be releasing a movie related to Kung-Fu! Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings are set to hit the big screens on September 3, 2021.
This marvel movie is based on the life story of Shang-Chi, the master of martial arts, whose character was introduced to Marvel comics in 1973. In the comics, Fu Machu is the father of Shang-chi and works for his father before leaving and finding work on his own. He partnered up with MI-6 and throughout his life’s journey, he proved himself to be an impeccable master of martial arts.
His excellent martial arts skills led him to join groups such as the Avengers and the Heroes For Hire. Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and produced by Kevin Feige.
Destin Daniel Cretton has directed many incredible movies, including the brilliant 2013 indie film Short Term 12, and the 2019 hard-hitting drama Just Mercy. Marvel fans were excited when Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings’ sneak peek was released this week.
The Eternals
Marvel has made only a few cosmic and universe movies such as Captain Marvel, Thor, and the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. However, there is plenty of cosmos hero series in the marvel comics that are yet to be turned into live-action movies. However, Cosmo lovers will now get to see another Marvel movie on the big screen that is sure to leave the viewers awestruck and amazed!
The Eternals will be directed by Chloé Zhao and is based on the story by Jack Kirby. In the Phase 4 trailer, fans get to see a sneak peek into the highly anticipated film, which features impeccable actors such as Angelina Jolie as Thena, Gemma Chan as Sersai, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Richard Madden as Ikaris, and Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo. It has been said that romance will be a very important part of his highly-anticipated feature film and is set to hit the big screens on November 5th, 2021.
Spider-Man: No Way Home
Spider-Man: No Way Home is amongst the most highly anticipated films. Fans have been in love with the franchise since the release of the movie’s first part in 2002. After the success of Spider-Man: Far From Home, which made 1.132 billion USD in its box office collection, Tom Holland is all geared up to star in the third installment of the action-packed MCU spider-man series that is expected to come out in late 2021.
All the cast members from the previous franchise are expected to return. Despite the leaked rumors about Spider-Man: No Way Home, there is a lot of information about the movie that we don’t know about! Spider-Man: No Way Home is expected to deal with the repercussions of how the previous movie ended, where spider-man was accused by Mysterio and J.Jonah Jameson of being a drone-controlling terrorist. At the end of the film, they made an appearance to reveal his identity as Peter Parker.
There are no certain rules as to how this scenario would play out on the big screen. It has been confirmed that The Amazing Spider-Man 2’s super-villain, Jamie Foxx will be returning to Spider-Man: No Way Home. This franchise of the Spider-Man movie is confirmed to be released on December 17, 2021.
Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness
In the summer of 2018, it was confirmed by Marvel President Kevin Feige that Doctor Strange 2 was in development, and recently, it was confirmed that the project was taking its form as Doctor Strange in The Multiverse Of Madness.
The antagonist of Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness is yet to be confirmed.
However, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Master Of The Mystic Arts teams up with the Scarlet Witch: Elizabeth Olsen in a key supporting role.
The story of this highly-anticipated movie is directly linked to the events of the Disney+ series, WandaVision. Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness is set to hit the big screen on March 25, 2022.
Thor: Love And Thunder
For the longest time, it was always assumed that Marvel will not continue its movie franchises after releasing three parts. For instance, Captain American and Iron-man only had three movie franchises. Chris Hemsworth has been very vocal about his dislike towards the first two Thor movies.
Whereas, filming Thor: Ragnok, changed his perspective towards on the character of Thor and now, Chris Hemsworth is all set to make us fall in love with the character of Thor all over again with his fourth film Thor: Love and Thunder, which is set to be released on May 6, 2022. Taika Waititi, the movie’s direction says, Thor: Love and Thunder could be the “best Marvel film ever”
The critically-acclaimed filmmaker, Taika Waititi, who directed Thor: Ragnok, is set to direct Thor: Love and Thunder as well. It has also been confirmed that the movie’s storyline will pick up after the events of Avenger: Endgame. The antagonist of the movie is confirmed, with Christian Bale playing the character of Gorr the God.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Fans were left devastated by the death of Chadwick Boseman in August 2020. Boseman had been suffering from cancer for the past four years. And throughout those four years, he worked in some of the biggest blockbuster movies such as the Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avenger: Endgame, all the while, he kept his illness a secret.
The beloved actor passed away at the age of 43 before he got a chance to work on Black Panther. Therefore, it is quite unclear how the upcoming blockbuster will turn out to be.
Black Panther 2 will be directed by Ryan Coogler, who is also the screenwriter of his highly-anticipated Marvel movie.
It is expected that the following cast members will return to the movie: Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, and Martin Freeman. However, nothing has been confirmed yet. Black Panther 2 will be released on July 8, 2022.
The Marvels
In 2019, Captain Marvel was the first Marvel movie to be a billion-dollar hit 2019. In December 2020, Marvel confirmed the release date for Captain Marvel 2 which will hit our big screens on November 11, 2022.
The details of the story are yet to be confirmed. However, we do know that Teyonah Parris will be playing the adult version of Monica Rambeau after she is done playing the same role in the Disney+ series of WandaVision. It has also been confirmed that the star of Disney+’s Ms. Marvel series, Iman Vellani, will be a supporting character in the blockbuster.
Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania
Ever since the release of Ant-Man And The Wasp, fans have been quite eager to know if the series would continue any further by Marvel Studios. At the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con and the 2019 D23 Expo, the two characters were not mentioned during the presentation and Marvel Studios did not indicate any interest in continuing the Ant-Man series. However, in April 2020, it was revealed that the Ant-Man series will continue with the production of Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania. Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania is confirmed to be released on February 17, 2023, as the first Marvel Studios movie of that year.
Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania will be directed by Peyton Reed, the same director from the first two parts of this Marvel Movie. Jeff Loveness, the writer and co-producer of Rick and Morty, will be writing the script of this highly-anticipated film.
The two main leads of the blockbuster movie, Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly will return. Whereas Michael Douglas will return as Dr. Hand Pym and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne.
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3
Fans expected Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to be the earliest marvel movie to release. This Marvel movie is directed by James Gunn and produced by Kevin Feige. As mentioned by the Director of this movie on various occasions, this version of the Guardians of the Galaxy movie will be the final part of the movie before bringing the series to an end.
The main cast of the Guardians team is confirmed to return with Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Vin Diesel as Groot, Karen Gillan as Nebula, and Pom Klementieff as Mantis.
It is yet not confirmed how the movie will be concluded since the production of the movie is pushed back until James Gunn has finished working on Suicide Squad 2. Despite a delay in this highly-anticipated Marvel movie, fans are excited to see what the movie has in store for them, which is set to fire up our big screens on May 5, 2023.
Fantastic Four
Marvel recently teased the release of Fantastic Four which is included in the list of their Phase 4 plans. Fantastic Four will be directed by Jon Watts, who is also the filmmaker behind the blockbuster Marvel movies Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far from Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is all set to be released on December 17, 2021. The cast of the reboot version of this movie is not confirmed yet. However, the Fantastic Four reboot will be the end of phase 4 and the release date is yet to be confirmed.
X-Men
The X-Men franchise has been loved and viewed for nearly two decades by viewers worldwide and now, everyone is very exhilarated to see their favorite mutants make their debit in MCU. However, the release date of the X-Men movies is yet to be confirmed and it might not be a part of Marvel Phase 4 nor can it be a part of its phase 5. Also, the cast and crew members are yet to be confirmed. The high probability of MCU’s X-Men not releasing on our big screens is not before 2025.
Blade
This Marvel movie project took everyone by surprise when it was announced that it will be released since the majority of its details were kept confidential before releasing. Blade has already lined up a star, Mahershala Ali, the two-time Oscar winner. However, the release date for this movie is yet to be confirmed.
