Outkast rapper and Atlanta legend, Andre 3000 is set to make his big return…to the big screen. The entertainer has signed on to star in an upcoming film called “High Life” along side other big Hollywood names. The film is to be directed by Claire Denis, a French filmmaker who will be making her English film debut with this project.
The plot of the movie is entailed to revolve around convicts who are sent on a dangerous mission to search a black hole, and in result, reduce the amount of time they are locked up. Robert Pattinson and Mia Goth, two superstar actors, are set to be the leads. Other names that will be involved in the movie include Ewan Mitchell, Jessie Ross, and Claire Tran.
This isn’t Andre 3000 first big gig, as he has starred in works such as Jimi: All is By My Side, a Jimi Hendrix biopic, Idlewild, with his Outkast partner in crime, Big Boi, and Four Brothers. He also starred in season 2 of ABC’s now cancelled show, American Crimes.
Although we hope to see a comeback musically and lyrically from Mr. 3000, a movie from the legend will have to suffice. Principal photography for High Life began last month in Germany, but the movie doesn’t have a specific release date just yet. Be on the lookout for more news and information on the highly anticipated film.
