Nicola Formichetti, The Italian-Japanese head designer of Nicopanda launches 2016 with the introduction of a Pre-Fall and dedicated men’sFall/Winter range, all with Nicopanda’s signature playful rebellious signature. Here at Tuc Magazine we have exclusive images from the Nicopanda look book as well as details as to what the collection entails.
Nicopanda’s 2016 Pre-Fall lineup is inspired by a blend of Nicola Formichetti’s collection of British 1990’s zines and the New Romantic movement of the 1970’s, the collection features ruffled silk blouses and skirts, oversize pearl details, silver leather jeans, color faux furs and cropped jackets with exchangeable sleeves.
The impact of Formichetti’s collaboration with artistSam Rofles from last September’s SS2016 collection was felt in this collection as well with the “Nicopanic”print designs . The prints incorporated a glitchy-photocopier take on logo mania is printed on silks, flocked satin, tulles and jacqurds along with a curious newspaper print across hoodies, sweats and tees.
The collection also includes deconstructed sweats, technical radzmir trousers and shorts twisting the statement Nicopanda gender fluidity with a gentle leaning towards a traditional menswear silhouette. Hoodies and ruffle boxing shorts are reinterpreted in glitter jersey and shift dresses are updated with athletic snap-off technology. Expect big things for the Nicopanda brand in 2016.
