Since the Coronavirus outbreak, many well-known artists have decided to donate money toward relief. For fashion designer Ralph Lauren, the foundation has decided to design medical masks and gowns for all employees in the field.
The Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation announced on March 26 that they will be designing thousands of masks and isolated gowns for the medical workers to push through this pandemic.
“Ralph Lauren is starting the production of 250,000 masks and 25,000 isolation gowns to aid in the fight against COVID-19,” The Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation Instagram post read. “In the spirit of togetherness, we rise.”
There were several other posts regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and the company. The first post shared that Ralph Lauren stores will be closed all around the world to protect their employees and their families. It also mentioned that the workers will be paid during their time off from work.
The Instagram post following that expressed that the foundation will also be donating 10 million dollars for Coronavirus relief, which will be going to “Ralph Lauren colleagues facing special circumstances like medical, eldercare or childcare needs.”
The donation will additionally go toward other healthcare, such as the World Health Organization COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund and Pink Pony Fund for international cancer institutes, who are extremely delicate at this time. The foundation considered the fashion industry that was also affected, as they will be setting aside a donation for the Council of Fashion Designers of America/Vogue Fashion Fund.
The designs for the medical gowns and masks have not been released, but The Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation has already made an impact by helping thousands of people during this time of need.
