From being one of the first to rock Supreme’s basketball shooting sleeve on court, it was only fitting for the streetwear brand to pick the Cleveland Cavalier’s 2 guard to model its collaboration with Nike and the NBA. Fans were hit with a plethora of reposts from almost all streetwear accounts on Instagram after Supreme posted a picture of J.R. Smith modeling the collection days before the release.
The collection included two tank tops, two shorts, three jackets, and two shoes, one iteration being black and the other white, sort of like a home and away color scheme. With late last year, as well as this year, creating a new spark to Nike’s Air Force 1, Supreme came correct using the Air Force 1 Mid as the shoe of collaboration. Each article of clothing was comprised of a multitude of NBA team logos. The entire collection released on and at Supreme on Thursday, March 8, 2018, and on NikeLab.com two days late. As you can already guess, the collection sold out instantly with resell prices skyrocketing right after the official release. Did J.R. Smith add to the hype?
