Haider Ackermann, renowned for his avant-garde yet wearable designs, has been named the new Creative Director of Tom Ford. Ackermann’s sharp tailoring and innovative use of color have captivated the fashion world, making him a natural fit to lead the brand. Former creative head Tom Ford, who stepped down in 2023, expressed excitement for Ackermann’s appointment, stating he shares similar historical design influences. Ackermann will continue his role at Canada Goose while debuting his first Tom Ford collection in March 2025 at Paris Fashion Week.
Tom Ford’s legacy is pivotal to Ackermann’s new chapter, as the designer aims to honor the iconic fashion house’s rich history. Ackermann, originally from Colombia and now based in Paris, studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and has previously worked with major fashion houses, including Fila, Berluti, and Jean Paul Gaultier.
This change comes after the departure of both Ford and his successor Peter Hawkings, who briefly led the brand following Ford’s exit. Ackermann’s entry signals a shift, with high expectations for how his bold, modern approach will redefine Tom Ford’s future.
