After dropping his number one album, KOD, J. Cole is launching the Dreamville Festival in North Carolina on September 15th. Cole and his team have been trying to put this event together for years, but he claims it’s hard to have the whole city agree, approve of it and stand behind you. They have been in continuous contact with the mayor and the city and have grown to connect with them throughout the entire process.
As of now, the performers won’t be announced until a later date. The festival will feature acts from Dreamville Records along with artists that Cole and his team have been fans of. It will also feature celebrations of culture, food, art, and local acts. This event will take place in Raleigh, NC at Dorothea Dix Park. Tickets are available and will cost roughly around $59 to $400.
This announcement added to J. Cole’s amazing album release. KOD went on to break Apple Music’s record for most album streams in the first 24 hours. It also went on to debut no. 1 on the Billboard 200. He has already dropped two videos “ATM” and “Kevin’s Heart” which featured comedic star, Kevin Hart. Down the line, Cole let us know we can expect a deluxe version of this album.
