Megan Thee Stallion strips down her typical glammed up appearance for the March issue of Harper Bazaar.
“I’m realizing that I don’t have to be in full glam every time you see me because I’m just getting more comfortable with myself and more comfortable with my skin,” said Megan who goes on to say, “Can’t nobody tell me how to be the Hot Girl.”
However, fans felt the magazine’s photo shoot did not display a “Hot Girl” moment. The photos were ridiculed for almost everything from lighting to wardrobe. Fans felt Megan’s beauty was not done justice and are placing blame on the photographer, Collier Schorr.
The photos are so bad. The angles, the lighting, like wtf were they thinking? This one in particular, she looks so UNCOMFORTABLE https://t.co/eLstIqiTUw

Critics said that Megan appears much lighter than what she is and the photos are bland.

Some professional photographers like Sam White, chimed in saying that the lighting used was not appropriate for black skin and that more photographers should know how to photograph people of color.
I looked at all the published images from Megan's shoot with Harper's (not just these). And they are not good.
White photographers need to learn how to light and capture Black skin. Either way, there need to be (way) more Black photographers hired for shoots like this. https://t.co/ofzrCuCiVu

Schorr posted about the photo shoot on Instagram.
“A most remarkable experience making pictures with Megan Thee Stallion, who discussed each picture and edited afterwards with me,” she wrote in the caption.
However, Schorr has since set her Instagram account to private.
While some fans are angry, others acknowledge her creative contribution to the shoot and only care that she is happy with the photos.
Rly weird thing where people are criticizing the Harper's Bazaar photoshoot like the photog did something to Megan. Meanwhile Meg seems to like them, Collier Schorr says Meg had input/helped edit each picture, and Meg's control over her image is one of the points in the profile! pic.twitter.com/XzvTbE5zuq

The photos were intended to show a natural side of Megan and despite controversy some fans still received that message.
I like Megan’s Harper Bazaar photo’s. I think the point was to capture her natural beauty & have nothing take away from it like dramatic clothing.

Megan appears to be content with the photos, they are still up on her Instagram page and the rapper has not commented on the uproar surrounding the photoshoot.
