When people found out that Kanye West was running for president, they didn’t quite take him seriously. But as the votes are being counted, it revealed that the Yeezy rapper received 60,000 votes, and he’s not stopping there.
According to Vanity Fair, West was included on ballots from 12 states. He received the most votes in Tennessee with 10,188 votes, 6,796 votes in Minnesota, 6,259 votes in Oklahoma, and 4,837 votes in Louisiana.

Vanity Fair also mentioned that, since the rapper wrote in his name on that ballot, as a Wyoming registered voter, it most likely would not be counted toward his running. It would have only counted in that state “if they win the election or additional paperwork is filed and a fee paid to the relevant election officials.”
West took to Twitter to express that this was the first elections that he would be voting in. What made it special to him was that he was voting for himself. In a series of tweets regarding election day, Ye captured his experience with photos of him selecting his name and later inputting the ballot into the machine.

“God is so good Today I am voting for the first time in my life for the President of the United States, and it’s for someone I truly trust…me,” he wrote on Twitter.
Although West wasn’t able to reach the votes to get him elected, he expressed that he would be returning in 2024 for another presidential election, as he tweeted a photo of himself in front of the election map. The caption read, “KANYE 2024.”
