Lizzo is known for her refreshing body positivity and self-love. In her day to day performance, Lizzo makes known to the public the meaning of self-love, irrespective of size or gender, but it looks like Jillian Michaels has a lot to say about that DNA test.
On January 9, Jillian Michaels appeared on BuzzFeed News “AM2DM” where she questioned the need to celebrate Lizzo’s body.
“I love her music,” Said Micheals. “But why are we celebrating her body? Why does it matter? Why aren’t we celebrating her music? Because it wouldn’t be so awesome if she ends up getting diabetes.”
Michaels also added that she and her kids love Lizzos music, but there is never a moment where she is so glad that she is overweight.
Lizzo spends hours every night singing and playing the flute during intensive dance cardio. Just admit that the only self worth you've found for yourself is in your thinness, Jillian, then go to therapy & do the work to love yourself.

People had a lot to say about this statement.
“Fat shaming is not ok. Using fat-shaming as an alarm, code or determinant for contracting a chronic illness is dangerous and gross.” One person tweeted.
After the huge backlash, Jillian responds with a statement that shows she is all about self-love, but she also acknowledges the health consequences that come with “obesity”.
“As I have stated repeatedly, we are all beautiful, worthy, and equally deserving. I also feel strongly that we love ourselves enough to acknowledge there are serious health consequences that come with obesity-heart disease, diabetes, cancer, to name only a few. I would never wish these for ANYONE, and I would hope we prioritize our health because we LOVE ourselves and our bodies.” Said, Jillian
It turned out that it wasn’t only Michaels that had something to say about her weight.
Boyce Watkins tweeted that Lizzo is only popular because there is an obesity epidemic in America.
“#Lizzo is popular is because there is an obesity epidemic in America. Rather than encouraging people to do better, we are simply lying to them and telling them that they are just fine the way they are.,
Unfortunately, many of these people are dying from diabetes and heart disease.” Watkins tweeted.
Izzo clapped back saying that she is popular because of the good songs she writes and the only person that needs to do better is Boyce Watkins.
“I’m popular because I write good songs and I’m talented and perform high energy hour and a half shows filled with love. The only person who needs to do better is you. Keep my name out ‘ya’ mouth & look in the mirror before you come for me. Here’s the attention you ordered.” Tweeted Lizzo.
