Wakanda Forever might be the infamous catchphrase for the Black Panther franchise, but it looks as if the phrase should really be Chadwick Forever. Fans of the actor may be still grieving over his death, but now they are in for a special treat. Streaming service Disney+ recently released a trailer for their upcoming animated series, What if…? The trailer features Chadwick Boseman reprising his Black Panther role as T’Challa. During the trailer, T’Challa is turned into Star-Lord by Yondu, rather than Peter Quill, per the original storyline.
What If…? explores different events that have taken place in the Marvel universe through a new narrative. It will feature animated versions of many of MCU’s biggest characters, including Thor and Peggy Carter, who are all voiced by their longtime portrayers. The series will premiere on the streaming platform on August 11. This is Boseman’s final performance as T’Challa. Also, it is one of his final roles before his death, along with his appearance in the film adaptation of “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”. Boseman died last August after battling colon cancer at the age of 43.
