Over the weekend, a video emerged depicting former NFL Most Valuable Player Cam Newton amidst a scuffle at a youth football tournament in Atlanta. In the footage, Newton, sporting one of his signature hats, is seen being pushed by three individuals near a flight of stairs, leading to a brief altercation involving shoving and grappling near a fence line. Fortunately, the conflict is swiftly intervened by a police officer and event security at the WeBall Sports x DynastyU 7v7 tournament.
Despite the commotion, Newton, the top pick in the 2011 NFL Draft from Auburn University, is observed refraining from throwing punches, instead, seemingly defending himself against the other men. While a punch is directed towards Newton, it remains unclear if it made contact with the former quarterback.

The exact cause of the altercation remains uncertain.
Newton, a native of Atlanta, oversees the C1N organization, established in 2021, which is dedicated to enhancing young athletes’ football skills through competitive opportunities like 7-on-7 tournaments. According to Newton’s website, C1N aims to nurture growth both on and off the field, aiding young athletes in achieving their football and life goals.
His 15-and-under team emerged victorious in the tournament.
Efforts to contact Newton’s representatives on Sunday proved futile.
Since 2021, Newton has not played in the NFL, last appearing with the Carolina Panthers, the team that drafted him. Across his 11-year NFL career, Newton amassed over 32,000 passing yards and 194 touchdowns, showcasing his prowess as both a passer and rusher with 75 rushing touchdowns for the Panthers and New England Patriots.
