American model, socialite, and businesswoman; Black Chyna is now going by a very different name, her birth name: Angela White, and Ms. White is now embarking on a spiritual journey of self-renewal, and discovery. Angela sat down with Forbes Magazine’s, Rosemarie Miller and discussed her transformation. The first question Rosemarie asked Ms. White was “What do you want to be referenced as Black Chyna or are you Angela White?” to which she replied, “Angela White”, because it was her birthname, and because “it was like getting back to” herself.
Rosemarie later asked her, “What caused her to make such a radical change” to which she replied, “working out, sobriety, and (reading) her bible.” She found God, and decided to get baptized on her birthday: May 11. 2022. She is now a born-again Christian, and has never been the same since, she decided to remove all her plastic surgery, delete her OnlyFans account(which was a huge source of her income), and remove her tattoo of a pagan deity called “Baphomet”, according to Fox News.
This interview also touched up on her childhood, and what led her to become “Black Chyna”; Angela said she was always “fun, adventurous, loud, lovable, chill, outgoing, and chill” as a young girl. She also mentioned that her mother was always a “hustler’ and that she was closer to her grandmother as well as godparents. Coming from an extremely humble background however; She had her first job at 15, and became an exotic dancer to pay the college tuition bills as she studied Fashion Merchandising at Johnson and Wales University in North Miami, Florida for two years before dropping out. She later rose to prominence when she was Nicki Minaj’s stunt double in 2010, and when she was mentioned in Drake’s song “Miss Me.”
One of the most intriguing parts of the interview was when Rosemarie asked; “What would you tell yourself now as you’re going through this life transformation?, What would you tell that girl who basically birthed Black Chyna? to which she interestingly replied, “control your emotions” and “because I feel like if you can control your emotions, you can control everything about you, and the room.” Heartwarmingly enough, Ms. White has no regrets as Rosemarie later asked her if she had any regrets, “if she would go back, and do everything the exact same way?” to which Ms. White replied she would.
According to an interview with TMZ, Ms. White explained, “I just honestly wasn’t living my life right so, I was just attracting all this negativity, and I wanted to honestly dig deep, and really see like ‘What’s my purpose?…” She continued saying, “I wanted to get back to myself, and you know become a better mom.” She also said that she wanted to “show the real person” that she was and “not this persona” that she was “putting on.”
One can learn from Black Chyna’s transformation in that life is all about mutability, transformation, and change. These can in turn make someone into to a better version of themselves, as well as give them a sense of purpose and fulfillment.
