The much awaited Fenty Beauty line by Rihanna has been given a release season. . Years of anticipation has finally led to a fall release. Her first product to launch is a holographic lip product used backstage at the Fenty x Puma spring 2017 runway show. Having first announced her foray into make-up back in 2016 when she signed a deal with the Kendo division of LVMH, which also produces Marc Jacobs Beauty and Kat Von D Cosmetics.

Rihanna marketed her official logo through her Twitter and Instagram page. Her Instagram post read “You ready? @fentybeauty new generation of beauty… coming this FALL!” With the brands tagline being “The New Generation of Beauty” everyone’s expectations of these products are on a rise. Although very little information is posted over this elaborate beauty line, on the Fenty Beauty website you can join an email list for news of the product launches and releases. On the website you can also find information such as links to the brands YouTube, Twitter, Snapchat and Facebook accounts. Rumor has is that these products might be easier to access than you think by becoming available in Sephora stores. We can only hope!
For Rihanna requests, Fenty grants! The artist has decided to skip out on Fenty Beauty and their tradition of using their own makeup artist. The singer held an open casting call during the month of February 2017 for the brands makeup artist in three major cities (New York City, Dallas, Los Angeles).
“By opening this up the our larger makeup community we hope to build a diverse team of beauty experts who excel in the areas of artistry, elevated education, makeup experience and have an ability to best represent a brand. This non-traditional interview process levels the playing field and allows artists everywhere an opportunity and have their work seen and be considered for a global position for a dynamic new brand,” wrote Erik Soto, Global Artistry & Education Senior Manager for Fenty Beauty’s parent company.
The interview process consisted of three interviews. Making it past the first and second interviews led you into becoming a finalist. Saving the best for last, the finalist really had to put their skills to the test. When they were given the opportunity to apply makeup on Rihanna herself as a ticket to becoming a global artist for Fenty Beauty by Rihanna.
