After Rihanna released her Fenty Beauty line in 2017, with 40 shades of foundation, she had the beauty industry shook.

Every cosmetic line has been following the trend of adding deeper tones to their collection and having 40 foundations seems to be the magic number. Makeup lines are truly getting praise for creating foundations that include everyone and listening to their consumers. We all know having only 10 shades of the foundation isn’t going to fly anymore.

Recently Covergirl has joined the wave of 40 foundations, and their naming the collection Full Spectrum Collection. This line is supposed to display that inclusivity goes the way behind shade ranges.
The collection will include 20 shades of liquid foundation, 12 shades of powder foundation, 6 concealer shades, a universal contouring palette, a three-color cheek palette, a universal primer, 20 shades of lipstick, 12 liquid lipsticks, 14 shades of lipgloss, 4 different eyeshadow quads, an eight eyeshadow palette and, 6 eyeliners.
