Tekashi 6ix9ine may be released from prison on Wednesday, Dec.18.
Last November, Tekashi 6ix9ine was arrested for racketeering and firearm charges. After pleading guilty to nine charges and betraying the Nine Trey Gangster Bloods whilst being a government informant, he faced a minimum of 47 years in prison.
It looks like this rapper’s fate is taking a big turn.
On Dec. 13, 6ix9ine’s lawyer Moe Gangat, says that 6ix9ine could get out tomorrow with a sentence of “time served”.
“When its all said and done, he is likely to have served just under one year,” said Gangat. “The government hasn’t asked for any sentence and when the government doesn’t ask for any sentence what they are saying is time served. No sentence!”
Gangat goes onto say that Tekashi will be out based on some guidelines- pre-trial report issue by the Probation Department, which according to Gangat, judges in the southern district of New York always go by especially when the Probation Department and the defense attorney are both recommending the same thing.
It was also noted that the Supreme Court reduced Tekashi’s 47-year minimum to a 37-year minimum because one of the counts that Tekashi was charged with was said to be done in an “unconstitutional” way and so will be removed.
For those sitting at the edge of their seats, it should be duly noted that those saying that all charges against Tekashi are being dropped and his release will be in 72 hours are fake. There are guidelines that must be followed and according to Gangat, the government has given the court to go below the guidelines of 37 years minimum which in most cases will be followed.
