Jmblya has always been one of Texas’ hottest music festivals ever. A fun-filled event to kick off the summer vibes! This year Jmblya headlined major artists J. Cole, Migos, Young Thug and T.I. In the beginning, Cardi B and Kevin Gates were on the list instead of T.I. and Young Thug but despite the change, the crowd still enjoyed the festival. From Dallas to Austin then to Houston, JMBLYA was still a weekend Texas remains known for.
Being the sixth year of JMBLYA, the May 4th weekend was extremely lit. Even though it was around 90 degrees and the artists and the crowds were extremely hot and drenched in sweat, it stopped no one from having a good time. Young Thug who filled in for Cardi last minute, who was too pregnant to perform, was a perfect substitute and had the crowd on fire! Alongside Thug was Jmblya’s other substitute T.I. who took place for Kevin Gates. The King of the South took it back and had the crowd moving to some of his throwbacks hits like “Live Your Life” and “Bring Em Out”… classics. Afterward, Atlanta’s hottest rap trio, Migos, hit the stage and the crowd went crazy. They played some of their hottest records such as “Bad and Boujee” and “Hannah Montana”. In honor and recognition of Cardi B not being in attendance, they even played “Bodak Yellow.” When J. Cole hit the stage, knowing fans looks to him as a lyrical and intellectual rapper, the shift was full of love. Cole performed with much energy and left the crowd in amazement and a smile on their face. JMBLYA 2018 was a weekend that will never be forgotten and fans can’t wait for what 2019 has to bring!
