So far the film industry is making major bucks off of biopics. With the success of Straight Outta Compton, the story of NWA it was no surprise that biopics of legendary artists and groups were in the talks of production. From Tupac: All Eyez On Me, to New Edition, it would only be right if Jodeci gets a biopic of their own letting the world know their story. On the night of the BET Awards, it was announced that there would be a three-night miniseries of one of Hollywood’s favorite R&B groups New Edition in 2017.
Now it has been said that Jodeci is ready to put a spotlight on their story as musicians. Sources state that VH1 may be producing the biopic on the lives of the group members which include Mr. Dalvin, DeVante Swing, K-Ci, and Jojo.
Jodeci has solidified their mark in the music industry. Formed in 1988, the group released their debut album Forever My Lady in 1991 which featured songs such as “U & I” and one of the group biggest hit records, “Come And Talk To Me.”
Apparently, Mr. Dalvin confirmed the biopic via Twitter. However, the account the tweet came from is not verified and could just be a troll.
However, many fans including myself wouldn’t mind a biopic showcasing the lives of four men who took the R&B world by storm in the 90s. Do you think the Jodeci Biopic is in the works?
