After a stellar performance at the VMA’s in Kanye West’s video “Fade”, Teyana Taylor’s buzz is continuing to heat up. The singer, actress, and mother of one has been added to the cast of VH1’s hip-hop show “The Breaks.” According to The Hollywood Reporter, she has also been added to the network’s game show “Hip-Hop Squares” based on the game show “Hollywood Squares.” The show will test the celebrity’s knowledge on pop culture that will include famous faces from comedy, entertainment, and of course hip-hop.
“The Breaks” focuses on three friends trying to achieve their hip-hop dreams in New York City in the year 1990. The series showcases their accomplishments and failures as they try to solidify their mark in hip-hop culture.
Teyana will play a rapper who was discovered by Nikki Jones (played by Afton Williamson). Her other cast mates include Mack Wilds, David Call, Melonie Diaz, Ali Ahn, Sinqua Walls, Antoine Harris, and Evan Handler.
Teyana Taylor has appeared in other popular films and shows such as Stomp the Yard 2, Madea’s Big Happy Family, and My Super Sweet Sixteen on MTV.
“The Breaks” series will be coming in 2017.
