Kanye West Wants Apple To Buy Tidal To End The Beef!
Kanye West took to Twitter on July 30, 2016, to speak his mind on the Tidal vs. Apple beef.
It is clear that West is irritated by the whole beef. Kanye West is a co-founder of Tidal along with Jay-Z and others. His tweets suggest that there is a lot of bad blood between Apple and Tidal. When Kanye talked about giving fans access to the music, he was referring to competition for exclusive releases. This has been a strategy for Apple and Tidal to try and catch up with Spotify and it’s 30 million subscribers.
However, Tidal has had some big exclusives themselves. Tidal got a significant boost in app downloads when Beyoncé released Lemonade with the service. According to Newsweek, subscribers doubled at Tidal after Yeezus debuted Life of Pablo on the service.
Still, that doesn’t get rid of the fact that Tidal has major competition. Artists such as Drake, Pharrell, and Future have exclusive deals with Apple Music which heightens the two competitors.
