All records are meant to be broken. Monday evening, Billboard announced that 34-years-old Queens, NY rapper, Nicki Minaj, had officially broken Aretha Franklin’s 40 years Top 100 hits for a female artist record of 75.
Aretha Franklin who is also known as “The Queen of Soul” held the record since 1977 with her hit single “Break it to me Gently” ,which at the time was her 54th Hot 100 hit single. Nicki Minaj ironically broke the record with her single “No Frauds” which was a a response to Remy Ma’s “shEther” diss track.
To celebrate her accomplishment, Nicki uploaded this twerk video to her Instagram account.
